MOURNING PROCESSION

An occasion to grieving together.

We have lost too much in the last years, our wounds and losses are huge: people lose their apartments, neighbourhoods their neighbours, people their lives. Tents are taken down, self-organized and non-commercial projects are kicked out, structures are destroyed. Every day we experience that bureaucratic, capitalist and state violence takes away what we need to live. The anger is great - but so is the grief over those who are no longer here and over what is no longer here.

What makes these losses all the more painful is the fact that most of them could have been avoided: By a basic right to housing, by a place to stay for all, by a right to self-determination far from bureaucratic domination. We have so many and different personal stories to tell, but they are all part of a fucked up system called capitalism. But capitalism is not a destiny, it is a system in crisis that is nearing its end with each passing day.

We always bring our anger together to the streets, with the grief we are too often alone. But it doesn't have to stay that way. We want to give space to grief visibly and together! We want to walk through the streets and tell in many different ways about our grief and about the people and places we miss. Whether quietly or loudly, angrily or thoughtfully, by telling each other stories or making music. All of this will have a place on this day. Our collective mourning is not only a sign for each of us - we are there for each other! - but also a political signal: We are many! We are sad, but not powerless! We are networked and in solidarity with each other!

Together we commemorate and show: No one is forgotten!

The protest starts at 12 o'clock at the Warschauer Brücke (north side) and ends at the Rummelsburger Bucht.

At the end of the demo there will be Glühwein and warm food. You are all welcome to stay and spend time together.
