The People's Studio @ MoMA

From the MoMA Website :

The People’s Studio is a participatory program organized around the theme Collective Imagination. It focuses on the human relationships that shape works of art. Visitors can learn about and experiment with artists’ strategies that rely on exchange, shared reflection, and collaboration. Each week, artists and creative thinkers will lead conversations and workshops about the networks, cultures, and environments that enable and sustain artistic practice.

Visitors are invited to engage with art and ideas in new and different ways, through activities and resources available at any time during their visit. Learn about histories of artistic exchange and circulation while making art postcards to send through the mail. Add to collective weavings inspired by the shared studios where modern artists brought art and design together.

The People’s Studio features projects organized in collaboration with artists and other creative figures. As part of her project Little Wheel Souvenirs, artist Salome Asega invites you to play a round of roulette that sends you to look at art in the galleries, and then make a take-home souvenir commemorating your visit. The library and writing organization Wendy’s Subway has created the Reading Room, a rotating collection of publications for visitors to use. Developed specifically with works of art currently on view in mind, the Reading Room focuses on collective and collaborative practices of making and circulating independent publications.

In the Reading Room, visitors can find Arts of the Working Class issue 7, The Exhausted Land
